As we received several questions about multiple choice exams, we’d like
to give you some information it.
* Multiple choice exercises are allowed, but there are rules to be
followed.
* The assessment criteria have to be noted on the exam sheet
* The assessment criteria have to be 14 days in advance in the CMS
(i. e., Campus, but L²P is also often used)
* If the exam is exclusively M.C., 60% and higher count as passed—also
if 50% are reached and it is not too far away from the average
(complicated rule, rarely seen in practice).
When there are problems with such exercises, or the criteria have not
been announced in time, you can dispute the exam. In this case we
recommend to contact the student members of the examinations board to
discuss further steps and to help with a potential request. You can
reach them at:
* pai(a)fsmpi.rwth-aachen.de (Computer Science)
* pap(a)fsmpi.rwth-aachen.de (Physics)
* pam(a)fsmpi.rwth-aachen.de (Mathematics)
You can find these points and more details in the comprehensive
examination regulations, e. g., §10, (4)-(6).
Good luck with your exams!
