by Jan Reitz 30 Jun '25

30 Jun '25

Dear MaPhIns, This semester's Freshers' Week will take place from 06.10. to 10.10. We are still looking for dedicated tutors to accompany the first-year students throughout the week. They will answer all important questions (e.g. How do I find rooms? How do I register for modules?) and take them to events organized by the student council (barbecue, pub quiz, rally, ...). You can find the registration form and further information on our website: https://maphin.eu If you have never been a tutor before, you must take part in one of 5 training courses. You can find the dates on our website. Of course, there will also be free catering during the training courses. If you have any questions, please contact esa(a)fsmpi.rwth-aachen.de We are looking forward to seeing you during the freshers' week! Best regards Your ESA of the student council I/1 -- Jan Reitz Studierendenschaft der RWTH Aachen FS I/1 – Fachschaft Mathematik, Physik, Informatik Kassenwart, Geschäftsführung

Dear Karaoke Fans! 🎤✨ Our karaoke night on June 4th was a huge success! You all sang wonderfully, and the atmosphere was fantastic. That's why we're continuing on *July 2nd, 2025, starting at 8 PM* at *SemiTemp* <https://maps.rwth-aachen.de/navigator/?lang=de&type=roadmap&obj=1665> (Schinkelstraße 15, 52062 Aachen)! 🎵🎉 This time, we're making it even bigger! Instead of just one room, you can expect two karaoke rooms, each with different software. There will be something for everyone, and the waiting times ⏲️ will also be shorter. You can again look forward to snacks 🍪 and non-alcoholic drinks 🥤 – completely free of charge. You are welcome to bring alcoholic beverages like beer, wine, and sparkling wine, but please leave "hard" alcohol like spirits at home. 🚫🍸 If you would like to help us with the setup 👷‍♂️, feel free to come a bit earlier to SemiTemp. And if you want to participate in our working group, we warmly invite you to join us for our karaoke working group meeting at 6 PM at SemiTemp. 🕕 If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us anytime at karaoke(a)lists.fsmpi.rwth-aachen.de 📧 or just talk to us at the karaoke night! 🗣️💬 We look forward to your incredible performances! 🎶🌟 Your Karaoke AG 🎤❤️ (Mika) -- ____________________________________________________________ Mika Lagendijk, Informatik Mobil: +49 163 8609266 Mail: mika(a)fsmpi.rwth-aachen.de Studierendenschaft der RWTH Aachen Fachschaft Mathematik/Physik/Informatik Campus Mitte: Augustinerbach 2a, 1. Invitation to Blood on the Clocktower evenings in June
by Lars Frost (Fachschaft I/1) 01 Jun '25

01 Jun '25

Dear game enthusiasts, in June, the Fachschaft invites again to 3 Blood on the Clocktower evenings: When will we play? * 2025-06-05 18:30 - 23:00 * 2025-06-14 18:30 - 23:00 * 2025-06-26 18:30 - 23:00 We will play in the seminar rooms ST 5 and 8 in SemiTEMP building [1] and will offer free snacks and water. Everyone is welcome, including people from other faculties or friends. Storyteller-Briefing If you are already experienced with Blood on the Clocktower, but are unsure how to run a game as storyteller, please arrive at 18:00 in ST 5 on the 14th June for a Storyteller-Briefing, so we have more storyteller and can rotate them around. What is Blood on the Clocktower? Blood on the Clocktower is a social deception game: a game where you try to deceive the enemy team. Those familiar with the game Werewolf will know the general principle. In Blood on the Clocktower there is an evil team with a demon, who can kill a player every night. The good team has to kill the demon. For that, they can execute one player per day. The good team therefore tries to find the demon through their own ability and discussions in small groups and on town square, and then tries to convince their own team to kill the suspected demon. The evil team tries to support and cover up the demon. Unlike Werwolf, dead players can still talk and have one vote after death. Usually, these ghost votes decide who wins on the last day. Also, all players, good and evil, have their own unique role and ability, which gives them power or information. To enable the evil team to better fake other roles, the demon learns 3 roles currently not in play during the start of the game. A round usually takes between 60 and 120 minutes. It is possible to join a running game, so it is no problem if you cannot be there from the start. The game has extra roles designed for joining later. We are looking forward to seeing you, your Spiele-AK [1] https://maps.rwth-aachen.de/navigator/?lang=de&type=roadmap&obj=1665 <https://maps.rwth-aachen.de/navigator/?lang=de&type=roadmap&obj=1665>
