Multiple choice exams
by Thomas Schneider 19 Aug '16

19 Aug '16

As we received several questions about multiple choice exams, we’d like to give you some information it. * Multiple choice exercises are allowed, but there are rules to be followed. * The assessment criteria have to be noted on the exam sheet * The assessment criteria have to be 14 days in advance in the CMS (i. e., Campus, but L²P is also often used) * If the exam is exclusively M.C., 60% and higher count as passed—also if 50% are reached and it is not too far away from the average (complicated rule, rarely seen in practice). When there are problems with such exercises, or the criteria have not been announced in time, you can dispute the exam. In this case we recommend to contact the student members of the examinations board to discuss further steps and to help with a potential request. You can reach them at: * pai(a)fsmpi.rwth-aachen.de (Computer Science) * pap(a)fsmpi.rwth-aachen.de (Physics) * pam(a)fsmpi.rwth-aachen.de (Mathematics) You can find these points and more details in the comprehensive examination regulations, e. g., §10, (4)-(6). Good luck with your exams! Thomas and Arno for the student council

by Thomas Schneider 07 Aug '16

07 Aug '16

Hello everybody, it is tradition that after our first meeting each month we go out to a pub to eat and drink something in a comfy atmosphere. As of now, we want to announce this beforehand so that everybody can join us to talk about the university, Aachen, the student association, the world or something else. The next pub evening will be about 10:15 p.m. on August 8th at the “Labyrinth”. Come and visit us, you are all welcome! Yours, Andy and Thomas for the Mathematics/Physics/Computer Science student association

07 Jul '16

Hello, the Fachschaft Mathematics/Physics/Computer Science would like to invite you to our summer party on Monday, 2016-July-11 starting 18:00. On the student yard behind the E3 building we will have barbecues and benches. We would be pleased to see you as well as all people connected to Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science in Aachen and hope to have many guests like in past years. Food (meat as well as vegetarian) and sauces will be provided by us (donations are of course always welcome), beverages are offered at cost prices. We will also provide background music. To help us plan, we would kindly ask you to write us at grillen(a)fsmpi.rwth-aachen.de how many people you will bring with you. As we will certainly not reach all people we would like to invite, please feel free to forward this message. Yours truly, Volker Cloos Lovis Suchmann Felix Baumann Translation by Thomas Schneider Fachschaft I/1 Mathematics/Physics/Computer Science
